Biomerics Is Expanding Its Extrusion Operations in Costa Rica and Texas
Biomerics, a medical extrusion company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is breaking ground on a new greenfield plant in Cartago, Costa Rica and expanding its facility in Athens, Texas. The new facility in Costa Rica will total 110,000 square feet to include engineering and quality inspection labs, class 7 clean rooms, and controlled environment manufacturing along with office and warehouse space. The facility will be focused on extrusion, laser processing, and high volume assembly and packaging.
Biomerics’ Athens, Texas facility is also growing by 24,000 square feet to add office space as well as more labs and a class 8 cleanroom. The Texas facility is focused on extrusion, injection molding, and catheter assembly among other areas. Both facilities are expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
