Dan Fannon
Dan Fannon
Dan has 34 years of experience designing rubber extrusion dies in the automotive sealing industry. He has developed all types of rubber automotive sealing - single, double, or triple durometer, single or multiple-bulb, sponge, dense, supported, unsupported, colored skin, rubber dead with internal string. He's done it all!

SKILLS
- Design of extrusion dies to produce rubber profiles, such as complex multi-durometer seals
- Design of downstream tooling for processing rubber profiles (UV guides, closing guides, and rolls used on supported sections, drill guides used to drill holes, rubber bulbs, and other related downstream tooling)
- Design of internally vented dies
- Design of open metal insert shapes to provide optimum die strength while ensuring the closed section will meet customer specifications
- Troubleshooting rubber extrusion die problems and problems associated with related tooling
- Ability to quickly determine key aspects of various rubber extrusion die issues and manipulate the die on the spot by using machine tools, torches, welders, etc.
- Ability to design associated tooling for the application of embossing on rubber extrusions
- Extensive experience designing dies and related tooling for complex frameless seals used on convertible vehicles
