Evonik Expands Biomaterials With New PEEK Filament for Extrusion 3D Printing
Evonik is continuing to develop its portfolio of 3D-printable biomaterials for medical technology. They have created VESTAKEEP® iC4800 3DF, a new osteoconductive PEEK filament that betters the fusion among bone and implants. For over 20 years, Evonik has been the world’s driving manufacturer of high-performance polymers for additive manufacturing technologies. VESTAKEEP iC4800 3DF is said to possess excellent biocompatibility and biostability. Its material of osteoconductivity was accomplished by utilizing biphasic calcium phosphate, a useful additive that speeds up patient recovery by allowing bone cells to adhere to implants more rapidly. The VESTAKEEP® iC4800 3DF was made for use in Fused Filament Fabrication. The PEEK filament has a diameter of 1.75 mm in 250 gram or 500 gram spools. For PEEK materials, they can be printed instantly in standard Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printers.

Single and Twin Screw Lines for PVC and Polyolefin Pipes
Bausano has launched its next-generation twin- and single-screw extrusion lines for PVC and polyolefin pipes. Its twin-screw MD and the single-screw E-GO lines allow the making of different kinds of pipes including rigid or flexible, mono or multilayer, smooth or corrugated for numerous applications such as construction, medical, and agriculture. This extrusion line for PVC can accommodate diameters from 63 mm to 160mm. Included on the machine is a gravimetric doser that is created to certify maximum precision so that way the pipes end up weighing the same. Also, the 170/30 model includes bimetallic screws and a cylinder that are subjected to less corrosion and wear.

Additionally, the system includes:
  • Stainless-steel cooling and adjustment benches
  • Two 9-m equal adjustment benches in a two-chamber setup with temperature and water level control, permitting various vacuum conditions
  • Space-saving, high-performance pipe cooling system, faster cooling betters pipe quality
  • End-of-line-drive systems, cutting units, and belling machines are accessible for accessories.
