Superior Plastics Extrusion Company Expands North Carolina Facility
Superior Plastics Extrusion Company has announced its plan to double the space available at its Hamlet, North Carolina extrusion facility. The company plans to invest $13 million to add a new 50,000 square foot facility to its existing operations in Hamlet. The company currently employs 45 workers and the company (locally known as Impact Plastics) is set to add many new positions. The company has been consistently expanding since 2019 according to Loren Temple, Impact’s Operations Manager. In 2019, the company brought in a multi-layer co-extrusion line capable of producing medical and food-grade products. In 2021, the company added a PET co-extrusion line capable of processing recycled plastics into medical and food-grade materials. According to Richmond County Commissioner, Tavares Bostic, this expansion cements Richmond County as a leader of economic development in North Carolina. Profile Films adding New Michigan Plant
Profile Industrial Packaging Corp (dba Profile Films) has begun expanding its operations in Michigan by beginning construction of another plant near their current operations. In early August, the company got the go ahead from the Grand Rapids Planning Commission to take down an old, outdated building on their new property and begin work building their new facility. Construction of their new, 184,000 square foot plant is set to begin next year. In 2015, Profile Films more than doubled their production space of 92,000 feet, and now the company is seeking even more space to keep up with increased demand for their film and bag products. The company is expecting to bring on about 65 new workers with this expansion. Read more here.
